Styling with Palm Leaves

We love using greenery in our home Interiors almost as much as we love our blue and white. When I recently purchased my home near the beachside, I knew one thing was for sure, the plentiful abundance of palm leaves in my garden would be my regular source of foliage throughout my home. I’m still in renovation mode, so not ready to reveal any photos just yet, but we still wanted to inspire you on the clever hacks designer’s use to create impactful statements with the use of palm leaves. The image above is from our all-time favourite home of Bunny Williams and John Rosselli.

By grouping vases with palm leaves adding the ambience of candles can make a striking tablescape in any home interior or make an impact using a stunning ginger jar filled with a mixed variety of leaves. The best part of using palm leaves is that you don’t need to be an expert to style them, they look great with minimal effort.

Our Tips for Long-Lasting Palms

  1. Sanitise your vase with a cap full of bleach or vinegar mixed with water to make sure you kill off any bacteria and rinse well.

  2. Cut the palm leaf stems under warm water, cut each stem at a 45-degree angle

  3. Use flower food mixed with water to feed nutrients to the freshly cut stems and fill your vessel with water, this helps keep your foliage lasting longer

  4. Replace water weekly

We hope you enjoyed this week’s post, have a great week!
