Botanical Love
Botanical Love
Hand on heart, if something is on trend, we tend to go the opposite way. Whilst we can be influenced by trends, we would prefer to look at interiors as an expression of someone’s own unique personality and style, rather than being dictated by up-and-coming trends that pass by quickly. When designing our Botanical Art Collection, we wanted to appeal to our love of nature in a modern fresh way, that would provide timeless appeal to any home interior.
When we designed this bedroom, we wanted to make the room feel welcoming and homely, our mutual love of green created a calming and inviting space for guests to stay. Once we selected our hero fabric, the handprinted Peter Dunham - Shiraz Green, we then selected a stripe to contrast the pattern on the bedhead and valance. The bedsides were custom-made, the Green Lamps dressed the tables beautifully. We added fresh flowers that can be cut from the garden (or later replaced with high quality faux) and a scented candle are always such welcoming gestures when friends come to stay.
The latest additions to our Botanical Collection have been eagerly loved by our customers and are still available for delivery within 2 weeks Australia-Wide. The Frangipani with it’s glossy leaves and abundance of blooms and the Tahitian Gardenia, always fragrant in a mass of white star-like flowers. We hope you love our new additions as much as we do.
Whether you cut flowers from your garden or source them from your local flower market, there is nothing quite as beautiful as fresh flowers and greenery, we always handover our home installations with fresh flowers however we often receive emails afterwards from our clients completely overwhelmed by the challenges of maintaining real and whether we offer the choice of faux greenery and flowers. We recently completed a a modern penthouse apartment, and our client only wanted faux flowers, so we set out on a mission to find the most authentic look and touch we could find. We definitely didn’t want plastic-looking fakes. It just so happens we fell upon a clever flower stylist and together we selected blooms that have you second guessing whether they are real or not. Here is just a snippet of a few vases we have just completed for a client.
We took this photo in our first ever studio when we started Verandah House nearly a decade ago, it took a lot of encouragement to get Milko to sit still, he wasn’t too impressed with us tying a bow around his neck but hey, if he wants to come to work with us he needs to contribute! It amazes me a decade later I have recently used the same fabric but in blue in my own home, just goes to show, good design lasts!
